Centered as a cartouche on this pillow is an early antique 1800s fabric piece of Toile De Jouy L' Art D'Aimer in stunning condition. The original red is deep and the image is clear, which shows its quality and little use. This piece must have been stored away from sunlight to retain its deep red color. Around the toile I stitched crocheted trim in natural and red that I purchased at a brocante fair in Bordeaux, France. For the pillow cover I used antique, but unused European natural linen mangle cloth. For the ruffle around the pillow I used the striped border of the mangle cloth. The putty color of the linen gives it its rustic elegance. The pillow back is new Waverly cotton matelasse fabric with a chain trapunto design.
Included is a new pillow insert. Unique and only one pillow available with this antique toile piece. Shipping fee inclused shipping, handling, & US insurance.
