Antique Hand Woven Indigo Wool Linen Jacquard w/ Antique Trim Pillow (#1300)
Unique c.1900 multi-harness jacquard hand loomwoven textile with linen warp and indigo blue wool weft is woven in a variety of stylized squares. Some of the wool threads appear to have worn away, but the majority is still in tact, making this piece lovely as a pillow. The entire pillow is made with putty color antique European linen, which the woven piece is stitched onto. Bordering the weaving is large hand crocheted antique linen trim (passementerie) purchased at a flea market in France a few years ago. Beneath the trim is antique grossgrain ribbon, as shown in the 2nd photo. The pillow is stitched closed. 9" x 12". The 4th photo shows this pillow modeled with another made from another piece of this unique and special hand woven piece, which is also for sale in the Antique Fabric Items section (#1297). They look lovely grouped together!
